To Joe and others. Vermont records are not only with the town Clerks. They are stored in Middlesex. They also have a huge collection in Montpelier called the Nye collection...where you can find info on an ancestor if he/she ever had anything to do with any legislative document, petition, court case, etc. Yes, it is hard to find anything outside of the state, but you can write to the Vermont Historical Society in Montpelier, to Mrs. Betty Wilkinson, or I know some other researchers who will do a record search for 5 or 10 dollars.
