    3. There is a book, now out-of-print, entitled "Gazateer of Orange County, Vermont, 1762 - 1888", compiled and published by Hamilton Child.. To the best of my knowledge it is not on the internet. I have a copy and could do look-ups for anyone interested. 3. Phyllis: Regards your kind offer of look-ups in the "Gazetteer of Orange County, Vermont, 1762 - 1888", might you check for the surname "Farnsworth" or "Downer"? Thank you very much and there is no rush! 3. Phyllis, It's very kind of you to offer your lookup. I'd like to know if you find any mention of a Quartus Carley or Joseph Carley in it. I'm searching for the Quartus Carley (Sr.)& Rebecca (Smedley) Carley who had a daughter Cynthia Carley supposedly born there in Williamstown, Orange, VT on September 19, 1796. The Cleveland History I have gives two locations for her birth, Williamstown, Orange, VT and Williamstown, (Berkshire) MA. Jedidiah Smedley is the father of Rebecca, and Smedley/Carley families are in MA earlier, according to other info. Anything on Quartus and daughter Cynthia would be helpful, just to even place them in the county for certain. I'm trying to locate parents for Quartus, and believe they may be Joseph Carley and Sally Gilbert. I surely appreciate your lookup in your index. I'm in very South Texas and it's some distance to a library with any NE books. Billye D. Jackson coffey@viptx.net This message is virus free.
