    3. Marriane According to the 1800 Census for Bradford, VT, there were two SWEAT families, headed by Paul and Silas Sweat. Paul and his wife were under the age of 26, with three sons under age 10. In Silas' family there were two males and one female over age 45, one female and two males between ages of 16-26, and one male under age 10. There are no Sweat/Sweet families in Bradford for the 1790 Census. Sorry, I don't have the 1820 Census. A Silas Sweet died at Bradford, VT on 23 Nov 1822, age 77. Evidently another Silas Sweet was buried in 1882, according to the Bradford, VT Burials, by Arthur L Hyde. You can contact the Bradford, Vermont Clerk's office by writing to P.O. Box 339, Bradford, VT 05033 or calling 802-222-4727., M-F 8:30am-4:30pm. Their vital records are all well indexed. This is all I could find in my personal, home library. Hope it helps somehow. She married John Tatch on 29May1837 in Fairhaven, Mass. She had three brothers, that I know of... Lafayette Sweet, b. 27Apr1825 in Bradford, VT Andrew A. Sweet, b 1830-1834 in VT Benjamin F. Sweet, b. 1832 in Mass. Is anybody related to this family? They seemed to have moved from Bradford, VT to Massachusetts, and then on to Madison, Montgomery, and Macoupin Co., Illinois. I cannot find parents for these Sweet siblings. I have had no luck with the census. Are there any directories for Bradford between 1820 and 1832? Any other suggestions where to search, would be very much appreciated. I'm stuck. Many thanks for your help. Marianne in CA --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? New Yahoo!
