Am looking for anyone researching the Bartlett family in Morgan, Orleans Co., Vt. and surrounding area, and Thetford, Orange Co., Vt. I believe my Bartlett family from Thetford, Orange Co., Vt. ties into this family as my Foss and Gardner family married into the Bartlett family and lived in both Thetford and Morgan. I am particularily looking for parents of Priscilla Bartlett. According to IGI she was born in Thetford around 1779 and married Josiah Foss in Thetford. They eventually moved to Derby, Vt. where my grgrgr grandmother Sally/Sarah Foss was born in 1805. I believe Priscilla's father may have been a Samuel Bartlett as her and Josiah's first son was named Samuel Bartlett Foss. There was also a Samuel Bartlett listed on the 1790 census for Thetford. Other information that makes me want to tie these Thetford Bartlett's with the Morgan Bartletts is the following info I came across in the NEGHS register: Abstracts from Volume I. of the Probate Records of Orleans County, Vt. "(17-21) Administration on the estate of Gideon Bartlet, Missisquoi, was given to Enos Bartlet, Duncanboro, and Sarah Bartlett, 1 May 1802; appraisers and commissioners appointed; list of creditors. At a court held 6 Oct. 1802, said Bartlet is styled late of Troy (Vt.). At a court held May 1809, an account rendered gives the names of those who received cash payment: Samuel Bartlett; "myself" (Enos Bartlett), Gideon Bartlett, Priscilla Foss, Betsey Holmes, Polly Rynes, Nabby Sias; to the widow "her thirds."
