    2. Thanks for the information and the links. The Mills DNA project sounds interesting. I don't have much information on William, other than he was born 4-1-1803 and was the youngest child of Deacon James Mills and his wife (?) Seamons. Our family history ends right there. According to census records, there were no Mills in Essex County in 1790, but the family's presence is recorded in 1800. There was some family link to Maine as James Harvey apprenticed there with an uncle. I am not familiar with Orange County (as of yet!) Again, thank you for the links, I will most certainly check them out! Charli

    3. Hi Charli, James Mills b. about July 1768 of Lunenburg married Mindwell Slack on Feb. 7, 1796 New London, NH. They were married by Job Seamans minister Town Records, p. 323. The IGI shows also the marriage occuring in New London CT. The five Children recorded to James and Mindwell were Laura b. Nov. 2, 1796, m. John Bailey. James Harvey Mills b. Mar. 9, 1798, Charles Searmans Mills b. Sept 10, 1799, Jonas b. Apr. 28, 1801 and William Mills b. Apr. 1, 1803. (Ref. Manuscript. by Betty Post). If you write me at home I can give you more.
