According to Census records Eliza Whitney was born 18 April 1806 in Vermont. She married Samuel Arnold c 1823 and had two boys, Alvah Nickison and Samuel Alonzo Arnold who were born in Monroe County, New York State. At some point they came to Shelby Twp, Macomb County, Michigan when the boys were very young. A Lucinda (Whitney) Carleton lived with her husband Richard in this same location and we suspect that Eliza and Lucinda were sisters. Lucinda was born in Turnbridge, Orange Co., Vermont. Does anyone have information on this family in Orange Co., VT? Or, do you have suggestions on what records I should search. Arnold on Fidalgo Island near La Conner, Washington State.
