Greetings! I am seeking information on the following person: Dimick T. Evans b. December 10, 1826 Randolph, Orange County, VT m. Lucinda Tracy ? Children: John Samuel b. September 21, 1863 in Morristown Nellie A. b. August 12, 1866 in Braintree The family later moved to Nebraska (shown in the 1880 census). I am trying to verify information for Dimick's forebears and am wondering if my relation is directly tied to William Evans. I am speculating that the family is also related to the Dimick family in Randolph because of my ancestor's first name. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Warm wishes, Deb Duncan Debra L. Thanks, Jan, for looking in the State of Vermont Roster of Soldiers in the War of 1812-1814. Could you (or anyone else) please tell me if this roster is of the soldiers that fought at the national level, or does it include state troops? In the History of Newbury VT book, it states Edward A. Rollins served in the War of 1812. I have checked with the NARA, and they do not have any record of him serving from Vermont or the surrounding states. Could someone please tell me where to write for state records for service in that war? Could there be records in the town of Newbury? Thank you!
Hi Cheri, Sorry, Edward A. ROLLINS is not listed. "Josiah ROLLINS of Corinth, Orange County, Vermont Volunteered to go to Plattsburgh, September, 1814, and served in Capt. Ebenezer Spencer's Company. Jan, Could you please look to see if Edward A. Rollins (from Newbury) is in the State of Vermont Roster of Soldiers in the War of 1812-1814. Thanks! Cheri

According to ancestry.com's 1800 census index, Peter Welton and Peter Welton, Jr., were both in Bradford Twp, Orange County, VT. In 1810 census Job Welton is still in Bradford Twp, Orange County, p. 412. By 1820, Job Welton is at Groton Twp., Caledonia County, p. 034 and James Welton is at E. Fairlee in Orange County, p. 296. According to the 1855 Schuyler County, NYS census, Mary B. Beers, age 51, was born in VT. Another source gives her maiden name as Welton. These are not my ancestors, just material at hand.
