Hello all, I am new to this list so let me share the person I'm researching with you. Louise ELMER, b. in Orange, VT. Married Lyman Woodward, perhaps from Plainfield, VT, and had three sons, at least: -Hiram B. WOODWARD, b. June 21, 1842 in Marshfield, VT or Hookerville, Cabot, VT -Lorin C. WOODWARD, b. June 12, 1846 in Marshfield, VT -another brother called "If", could be Ithamar of Cabot, VT. Any connections out there? Lezlie Densmore Chicopee, MA
Hello- Enclosed is a brief description of my GGGrandfather Thomas Magoon, and my attempt to locate his parents. Thomas was born in New Hampshire (per his data on the 1850 Algoma Twp, Kent Co., MI census). He was born in 1798. At no time have I been able to ascertain any probabilities as to who his parents were. Here is one theory, though. In the 1880 Algoma Twp, Kent Co., MI census Thomas Magoon's son Henry stated that his father was born in Vermont. I initially dismissed this as an error, but now possibly think that there might be something there. There was a Moses Magoon in Rockingham Co, NH about 10 years before the timeframe of Thomas Magoon's birth, and he later moved to Corinth, VT and died there in 1814. There were other Magoons in that same area , but here is why I suspect Moses as Thomas Magoon's father. One of Moses Magoon's sons was named Benjamin (born abt 1893). Benjamin supposedly headed "west" in his youth. In the 1830 Lorain Co, OH Census Thomas "McGoon" and a Benjamin Magoon appear on the same page for the town of Amhurst. The census age for Benjamin was 30-40 years old, placing him in the proper age frame for Moses Magoon's son Benjamin. I have also received information that a Benjamin Magoon is buried in Camden Cemetery, Camden Twp, Lorain Co.,OH and the grave info again places his birth in the same time frame as Moses Magoon's son Benjamin. Right now, I am currently writing the Probate Court in Corinth, VT to possibly obtain a copy of Moses Magoon's will, and also looking for the address of the Probate Court in Lorain, Ohio to possibly obtain the will of Benjamin Magoon. Would anyone have any other ideas or angles that I should pursue? Any help or recommendations would be greatly apreciated. Thanks, Chris Andrews - Des Plaines, IL

Hi List I am looking for information or "cousins" that connect with Zera(h) NORTON of Strafford. He lived there from at least 1770's to 1810 when he moved to western New York. His 1st wife was Ruth CHAMBERLAIN and his 2nd wife was Elizabeth NEWMAN. He served in the Revolutionary War - most of his time was as a prisoner of war. Hope someone out there can help me. Thanks. Mary MCCRACKEN HOPKINS
Looking for any info on Isaac AYER, born 13 March 1794 in Corinth. He serves in the war of 1812 enlisting in Corinth, Vt. In 1835 he marries Nancy McFarland in Galia Co. Ohio. He is 41 years of age. How can I find if he had a family in Vt. Did he lose a wife and children there? where did he live before coming west. Also I find no record of death. His sons in Mo. stated that they moved to Schuyler Co. in 1852 with their Parents. He is not on the 1860 census, he is on the 1850 Lawrence Co. Ohio Census. I would like to learn more of his life in Vermont. Thanks, Shirley Combs in Oregon
I am also very interested in information concerning Hezekiah & Hannah Austin. Here are some other children that belong to this couple: David b. 1790 in VT, Benjamin b. 1792 in VT. Joseph Higgins wife before he married the widow Hannah Austin was Polly Rand. Any information will be appreciated. Glad to share what I have. Max >Lookiing for information concerning Hezekiah and Hannah Austin. It is >believed that Hannah's father was Jonathan Austin who owned land in Bradford >late 1790s and early 1800s.
