I have people traced back into Quebec but I have not been able to find where they came from before Quebec. I was always told that we originally came from Ireland, but have yet to find the way. The information I have on Maria was from the 1871 census & I have her birth date as 16 Apr 1854 in Quebec which would have been Lower Canada at that point. I have on another census, just seen her listed as Mariah C1861. I am on Ancestry but feel free to contact me by email. I believe this links into it. I look forward to hearing more abouit your part of the family. I didn't have anything about who Maria married or her family. I will look now that I have a little.
