I'm having trouble finding anything back before 1817 for Simeon Welch and I believe his son Simeon is the one I have traced back to. And would like to know the origins of Welchs'. Several of my relatives went from VT to Quebec and then back to Vermont. Do you have any insight to the history at that time? Loyalist or Royalist? The Indian War?
