He lived amongst the Abenaki of Northern Vt. A couple of his children were baptized at a French fort on the lower end of Lake Champlain. His Abenaki name was something like Wananolette. Some of his line took the first name of one of his sons (Louis?) at St Frances. Others ended up shortening is name to various spellings of Nolett. A few ended up in Rhode Island.
