The Allen L. Stratton Book published in 1986 is a distortion (probably created unintentionally by a non-professionally certified genealogically but kind heart minded Mr. Allen Stratton himself) is what Ms. Carollee Reynolds is citing Page 132. Certified copies of a distorted record that misquoted the original historical record information, for "tribal" application? Yet, Ms. Reynolds herself states that she hersself has seen the original record Page 593 and yet insists on quoting misinformation perpetuated first by Allen Stratton in 1986 and then repeatedly by her! Please, very simply go to www.nedoba.blogspot.com and review the posted original record verbatim (it is scanned) and evaluate what Ms. Carollee Reynolds and others have misquoted vs. what the original record. See how the information has been genealogically and historically manipulated! The original Record states: October 1863. Four Indians paid $110. Each = $440.00 (total) BELOW this: George Burk $100.00 Jacent Vosburg $300.00 Albert Olena $300.00 Charles Partlo $300.00 Then the Town Clerk entry tallies the amount for the four identified by name men at $1,000 dollars total. Then the Town Clerk, proceeded to take the Four Indians amt. of $440. the Four men and tallied the total to be $1,440.00 dollars. This clearly and obviously supports the historical FACT that Burk, Vosburgh, Olena and especially Partlo were NOT the "Four Indians" as Ms. Reynolds here tries to imply based on her repeated pointing to Allen L. Stratton's book of 1986! To misconstrue, manipulate one's ancestral historical record(s) to fit what one wants to BELIEVE vs. what one's historical ancestors are documented to be, well it shows the genealogical integrity of the person doing the manipulating and distorting. Ancestry.com message boards etc should not be used in this way. As a genealogist, I would be ashamed of doing something that was not truthful about my ancestors (or anyone else's) but obviously Ms. Carollee Reynolds isn't ashamed. She will continue to manipulate the historical record and BELIEVE what she insists on believing. Good for her. But for all you naive people out there reading these posts, go do a comparative between what Ms. Reynolds SAYS and quotes from, vs. the bonefide actual historical record regarding the "Four Indians" vs. Burk, Vosburgh, Olena and Partlow eh.
