An ancestor of my husband's, Reuben Ames, came from Shoreham to Potsdam that same year. A family bible shows Reuben married a Sophia Healey on Dec 1, 1803. It does not indicate the location but I assume they made the journey during warmer weather and this wedding took place in Potsdam. None of the online family trees I've found show a child of Jabez named Sophia. Do your genealogy records show a Sophia Healy? She would have been born about 1791.
