There are records available, try a Google search "border crossing records canada to usa st. albans VT 1909" you'll get a ton of hits including explanation of the crossing. Back in the 1950's I used to take the train called the Washingtonian from Montreal to Washington and we always stopped at St. Albans. Immigration people who had boarded at Montreal had interviewed us and that's where they got off and then made the trip back. Good luck on your search. Keith.
