Author: mistemery Surnames: Emery, Fortin Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.franklin/1669.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I, too, am searching for information on Joseph Emery and Emma/Eliza Fortin - they are my great-great-great grandparents through their son, Joseph, who's death record indicates all three were born in Champlain, PQ, however, other records place Joseph the younger's birth at Pike River, PQ and Chambly, PQ (guy must have been huge to have been born over such a large area, eh?). At any rate, Joseph the younger appears to have been born circa December 1832 and to have immigrated to the US (St. Albans, VT) in 1834, however, I haven't been able to ascertain if or for how long his parents were in Vermont with him. Any information on this group would be greatly appreciated, especially if this Emery family is related to the Emery dit Coderre group in Quebec.
