I don't think that the Marion Hunt listed in the 1850 US Census would be the one I'm looking for although Sarah's death record indicates she was born in High Gate. Sarah was a "Moore" so I would think that her mother's name, even if she was widowed would still be Marion Moore? I don't think it was common for woman to revert back to their maiden names after the husbands were gone? Guy (Zay) and Hannah were Henry Hogle's parents, yes. Henry is Sarah's first husband. Yes, I do believe that is Sarah's brother, David, living with her and her family in 1860. I was hoping to search the 1850 US census and find a Moore family with both Sarah and David as children. Y'know, I'm just now looking at that 1850 US census again with William and Rosanah Moore. I'm not sure how you could get Sarah out of Usuroph, but nothing would surprise me when looking at the censuses! But did you also notice that the Marion Hunt was the next door neighbor to the Moore family in Highgate? I never saw that before! When I tried to figure out what happened to Sarah's children after she remarried, I found that her daughter, Louisa was living with a family (the Smiths) as a house servant . Her 1st husband, Henry Hogle died in the Civil War. And yes, Arthur is living with his grandparents, Guy and Hannah Hogle. By this time Sarah was married to Stephen Aseltine, he himself a widower with 2 children of his own. I'm not sure why her children were living with other people, but by 1870, she and Stephen had 2 more children (Ella - my great great grandmother and Aurelia) and his 2 children were already out of the house. 2 more children were born before 1880. I have not yet located the death record for Marion Hunt. I will be traveling to VT later this month hopefully, to see if I can locate the record. I want to try to find the original birth record and/or death record for Sarah Moore. The death record that was sent to the VT state archives shows her mother as Marion Hunt and her father as Stephen Aseltine. Obviously, her father was NOT Stephen Aseltine as that was her husband. I'm going to look more into the William and Rosanah family to see if there is a connection. Thank you for your help!
