She was born in Swanton. Her grandparents were Nathan Smith & Sarah Pike and Hezekiah Royce Sr & Lois Damon. Nelson Lackey was the eldest son of Simeon Lackey (1783) & Mary Ellen (Polly) Sheldon (b. 1786) daughter of Jonathan Sheldon. Simeon was an early settler in Swanton but left prior to 1850. I have more on the Smith & Royce lines back to immigration. Will have to check my Sheldon line to see if it is the same. Contact me off line and I'll be happy to share.
