Hi Frank, The folks at City Hall are really helpful in locating St. Albans records if the names and dates are right. Since Murphy doesn't sound like a French name, I assume they would have spelled it "Murphy." I had trouble initially searching for Rogers, since the family was really Royer/Rodier in French... I found records in those names, with dates, at St. Mary's church and Holy Angels church though and went from there. If your Murphy's had 6 children in St. Albans, you may find their baptism records in one of those churches as a starter. And in 1868, their marriage record (assuming they were married in Catholic Church) would have been at St. Mary's, since Holy Angels was built I think in 1873. I haven't started looking for railroad records yet, but I am on the Quebec and St-Hyacinthe lists. Good luck to you.
