Looking for any information on the family of Alexandre Murphy of St. Albans Vermont. Alexander was born in St Jean (sur Richelieu) PQ in 1848 the son of John Murphy and Esther Hebert. Alexandre married Mary Godard of Longueuil PQ in 1868, daughter of Leon Godard and Denise Colin. I have not found the marriage record in Quebec and am wondering if Alexandre and Mary married in St. Albans. I'm assuming they were married in a RC church and I have learned that there was only one in town in 1868 - Immaculate Conception (St. Marys). He reportedly worked for the Vermont Central Railroad as a mechanic. I have learned that Alexandre and Mary had six children: John Alexander b. 1869, Charles b. 1869, Emma b. 1876, Marl L. b 1878, Mary S. b 1879 and Samuel b 1888.
