    1. [VTFRANKL] Chilsons of Enosburg and area: 1810-1870's
    2. Dear Gang, I'm looking for anyone with an attachment to the Chilson family that lived in Enosburg. If you have that name, even outside of Franklin County, I would love to share info. I, along with other Chilson researchers have transcribed the VT State Vital records and the census records for all and any Chilsons. Unfortunately, I have found that genealogy is very hard to research in this state due to the lack of records and a certain "independent" streak running through it's inhabitants! :) Yes, thats a smile. DANIEL CHILSON (born 3 April 1776 Brookfield, MA and died 31 August, 1854 in Enosburgh, VT) married Mary "Polly" Peas in Weathersfield, VT on 27 March 1799. They moved to Enosburg circa 1810 and settled in West Enosburg. They first owned a mill then after it was swept away in 1825, they turned to farming. SONS: Daniel S.; Alonzo B.; Lorenzo G.; Horace. at least six DAUGHTERS but none documented. The children and families of all but DANIEL S. are known and documented. Unfortunately, my line is not. POSSIBLE GRANDSON: EUGENE CHILSON born May 25, 1846 in West Enosburg. Mother "Mary CHILSON" in 1850 census in Castleton, VT. Mom and Eugene moved to Castleton in 1850. She lived with an "own cousin" SHELDON BLISS. No records of Dad have been found. No other records of Mother have been found. Anyone who has this name or an idea, I would love to chat. Thanks, Colin Brooks
