This is not my family tree. I am doing a favor for a friend who doesn't know what she is missing by not having a computer. The last I have of JULIUS MICHAEL is that he was in St.Albans, Vt. according to the 1882-1883 census of that town. He was born in Canada, about 1819. He married Mary McIntosh (have no information on her except that she was born in Vermont abt. 1821. children: Sabra---married Frank Root Sarah Lewis (Louis) Mary Jane---married Amos Fisk Frederick Julia---married Peter Jacques If there is anyone in the St. Albans area that could do a lookup for me, I would deeply appreciate it and would pay for any expense. Aloha Betty, I've had experience researching French-Canadian ancestors in and around St. Albans. MICHAEL might well be an Anglicization of the French surname MICHEL. If he's from Canada it may be Quebec. If he is French-Canadian he was probably a Catholic. Try to find their marriage because it may well give you the name of the parents. Try the VT vital records first. Then the St. Albans City Clerk. Then the Catholic churches including St Mary's (now Immaculate Conception) in Burlington. Good luck.
