I think we have been in touch in the past. I have Andrus in my ancestry as well. My most recent ancestor of this surname is Hardin Andrus m. Sarah "Sally" Benjamin. They settled in Berkshire. Here is what I have gathered peripherally about the Powells - but none of this has led me to Lydia, yet. David and Lydia did, in fact, have a son named William Skeels. He died 1860 in Highgate. Cindy Lydia Powell was likely connected to one of the Powell families who resided in Lanesborough, MA. Some of the children of Robert Powell (born Wethersfield, CT and died 1748 Middletown, CT) and Anne Goodrich (born 25 Mar 1697 in Wethersfield and died there 28 Dec 1783) settled in Lanesborough. They had the following children who were born in Wethersfield: Anna (born 10 Nov 1717, died 3 Aug 1733); Elijah (born 1719, in Lanesborough by 1759, died there 10 Oct 1787); Ephraim (born 1723, in Lanesborough by 1759); John (born 1724, resided Lanesborough 1759, died there 1785); and Col. Miles Powell, born about 1729. John Powell was a colonel in the Revolution, serving in the Battles of Bennington and Ticonderoga. He had 12 children of which 11 survived to adulthood. One was John Powell, Jr. Another was Asahel, born in 1794, who lived in Lanesborough until his death in 1869. John Sr. married Ruth Adkins. Col. Miles Powell married Jemima Adkins. He settled in Lanesborough, then New Framingham in 1759. He was first constable in Lanesborough in 1765, was a member of the Congregational Church and served from that town during the Revolutionary War. He died on 17 Sep 1791 in Lanesboro, Berkshire, MA. . He was a member of Congregational Church in Lanesborough, Berkshire, MA. He married to Jemima Adkins about 1754. She was born on 19 Nov 1731 in Middletown, Middlesex, CT and died on 17 Oct 1801 in Lanesboro, Berkshire, MA. She was a member of Episcopal Church in Lanesboro, Berkshire, MA. Their children, born in Lanesborough, were Miles, born in Apr 1755, died on 7 Jun 1835 in Lanesboro, Berkshire, MA; Calvin, born about 1757; Elizabeth, born about 1759; Irena, born about 1761; David, born about 1763, died about 1814; Rachel; Jemima , born about 1767 in Lanesboro, Berkshire, MA , died Oct 1801; Hannah, born 23 Feb 1769; died on 19 Nov 1822; Daniel , born about 1773; Calvin. baptized 20 Feb 1774 and Ruth, born 24 Oct 1778 in Lanesboro, Berkshire, MA, died 4 Feb 1842.
