Hi Mary, I, like you hunted and hunted for Octave ANAIR whose son Alfred married Elvina DEMARS. Alfred ANAIR was my great grandfather who died in spring of 1943 according to my mother. I am so glad the posting helped to get the information to you. I have sent this to Gary ANAIR whose Aunt Helen had done the genealogy of the ANAIRS and has told me sometime he will get it to me. I am sorry I don't have more information for you but maybe Gary will have some info. I have just come upon some information that you posted on a Vermont Rootsweb mailing list, pertaining to the couple in the subject line. I am a decendent of the brothers of Helen Carignan.. I had been looking and looking for information on anyone that was a child of Francois Bourbeau dit Carignan and Marguerite LaBlanc.. I knew that they had two sons, one named Honore and one named Dosithee. I am a great granddaughter to both of these men as my great grandparents where cousins that married. Honore Carignan and Marguerite Houle had a son named Dosithee, who married the daughter of Dosithee and Josephine Broulliard Carignan. Her name Marie Olivine Carignan. For some reason when Honore came into Vermont he became Henry Currier.. thus I have had quite the experience looking for this family of three names.. My great grandparents and successive generations carry the last name Currier. Dosithee Carignan became Dustin Levi Currier Marie Olivine Carignan became Olivine Currier Now, thanks to you I have found that they had a sister that had a rather large family, as I find in the 1880 census on the LDS site. So, I just wanted to say thank you for posting this information on the Rootsweb site and show that it does help to have the information available. I have a few older aunts and uncles still living I will take this list of names with me when I make a trip to New York in the next couple of weeks. ( I am now in Minnesota) and see if they have any memory of meeting any of these folks when they where younger. I see that where you are a great great granddaughter of Octave, I find I am a great-great Neice of Helene. Guess we most be one of those shirt tail cousins, eh? I wondered if you had any other information on Helene's siblings, I have her family tree all the way back to Eli Bourbeau but have had a heck of a time with finding the children of Francois and Marguerite leBlanc. I find them in an 1861 census in St. Georges De Windsor , Quebec with what appears to be a family grouping of families but that doesn't give me the proof I need. Anything you might have on Marie Helene would be most appreciated. Thank you for the information that you did share.. Mary
