Benjamin, d. Feb. 18 1840, age 77 yrs [Episcopal] [Additional notes from Vermont Historical Gazeteer, Part 2, pp 193-196: Rev. Benj. was born at Waterbury, CT October 29, 1762- died at his home in Fairfield, VT; served in Rev. War at the early age of 14 under his grd uncle Gen. Wooster and in the Jerseys under Washington, served 4 yrs and returned to care for his mother; entered Yale in 1788 and later studied theology under Rev Jonathan Edwards of New Haven. After becoming a minister he was persuaded to accompany Rev Mills of Torrington, CT to northern VT as an assistant. ..He married first Sarah d/o of Captain Israel Harris of E. Rutland, in 1796; they had 11 children and she survived 7 of them, and died in 1824. In 1825 he married Sally Cooper of Sheldon; Rev. Benj. Was tall and had blue eyes and fair complexion. He was survived by only three children: Sarah, w/o Hon HANSON NORTHROP; Benjamin Horn Wooster of Swanton, “his only son”, Charlotte, w/o of Mr Comstock of Shelburn.]
