Hi List, My Canadian Grand Uncle Frederick W. BISSETT is in the St Albans census for 1900. He lived on Main Street in a rented house, but I don't know the number. His wife was listed as Lilly, daughter Eltha May and son Frederick. I'm hoping that city directories for St Albans exist from 1885 onward. His marriage to Lilly took place in Vermont (according to the census) 15 years earlier, so I'm hoping to find them in St. Albans after 1885. The stay in Vermont was somewhat transitional. The son was born in Canada in 1897, so this family moved back and forth between 1885 and 1900. I have not yet looked in the 1910 or 1920 census, so I have no idea how long they remained in St Albans after 1900. Hopefully directories will help. By 1925 the family was in Norfolk, VA. I also need to search for Frederick's immigration information. Since they came from Huntingdon, Quebec, if their records exist they would be in St Albans. I'd be interested in knowing the address(es) for reputable researchers in the St Albans area who might help me pull this information together. Regards, Joe
