Miller. My grandmother (who died before I was born) always heard or thought that we were somehow related or connected to the early Plattsburgh, NY Millers or Platts. I've found that the Millers & Platts inter-married several times. Does anyone have info. on the descendants of Dr. John Miller (b. 1760), Thomas Miller (b. 1770, commanded in the Battle of Plattsburgh), or Eleazer Miller (b. 1772, attorney)? So far, I haven't found my Philip S. Miller in on-line family trees. I've found that Philip B. Miller was a son of Eleazer; family notes say that Philip S. Miller had a cousin named Philip Miller. Philip S. Miller, b. between 1794-1804 in NY. Philip was a farmer. He died in 1880, buried in Chateaugay, NY (he lived in Chateaugay from at least 1833-1869, then lived with his son, Thomas S. Miller, in St. Albans, VT, in the 1870s). Philip married Helen Hopper (b. 1812 in present-day Saranac, NY). Helen died in 1881, and is buried in Chateaugay. Known children of Philip & Helen: Elizabeth Miller, born abt. 1836 in Chateaugay. Married to Dennis Mould, and John B. Bort. Died in 1908, buried in Chateaugay. Thomas S. Miller, born Oct. 4, 1837 in Chateaugay, NY, died Feb. 1, 1891 in St. Albans, VT. He moved to St. Albans about 1868, and was an express agent. He married Sarah Dupont, who was born abt. 1845. Thomas & Sarah had at least 2 children: Millie, born abt. 1866 in NY, and Thomas D. (or B.) Miller, born abt. 1868 in VT. Newell F. Miller, b. 1844, d. 1846. John E. Miller, born June 6, 1847 in NY, died in 1884. Buried in Chateaugay. Please contact me if anyone has info. on these Millers. Thank you, Jonathan.
