I'm looking for the Parents of Rev. Ira Bentley b: 1785 VT. The earliest documentation of Rev. Ira is from St. Albans, VT. I am related to his son Levi Permit Bentley b: 1809 St. Albans, VT. Most of Levi's Children were born in Fairfax and Fletcher, Franklin Co. Ira might be related to James Bentley and his sons, James Jr. and Thomas. Ira is a witness on a deed for James Jr. along with a Levi Bentley (not Ira's son but may also be related ). there is also a ref. to a Sgt. Ira Bentley in the VT militia abt. 1808 in the History of Franklin and Grand Isle Counties, Chapter on St. Albans. If this is not Rev. Ira he may be related. Thanks! Jody
