Hi - the reason I subscribe to this message board is because I am looking for info on a William C. Brooks and Sarah W. McFarland who supposedly lived in Franklin, VT. Their son who came to Maine and joined the Civil War from Maine said he was born in Franklin and had gone to school there and in Canada. Your entry for Joseph Lahue and Lucy Brooke just gave me some hope - although it is Brooke not Brooks. Hoping someone can help me find my elusive William and Sarah and any other family. An old letter said they may have had a daughter who married a man in the Canadian government. William Curtis Brooks who came to Maine was born March 16. 1826.
