I have recently received a "No RECORD FOUND" answer from Montpelier on a request for Marriage (about 1902-1905) and/or Divorce (about 1912) record for Augusta Sylvia Larson and Arthur Charles Bingham. I was told the fee would be $14, which I happily sent. When I received the answer, the explanation showed that the fee was only $9 since they found no record, but, that there would be no refund of $5, or less.. I do not believe that that is a good reflection on the Vital Records office, although it should be a good money maker. But, be that as it may, is it possible that Montpelier would have no record, but, St Albans might, as I am fairly sure that the divorce was in St Albans. The marriage could have been anywhere.
