I know of a Charles Lachapelle in our line. His parents were Orville Lachapelle and Julia Lachapelle. There is also a grandson of Orville and Julia whose name was Charles and children of Walter and Ethel. My father in law remembers a cousin to his father named Charles from Riceberg area in Missisquoi County. Perhaps this is a connection. We don't know much on this line.

I do not have the info I used handy or the wife and children's names but will provide that info this weekend from my home email ([email protected]). I believe the 17 year old you found is the one I am looking for. The Wisconsin census was in Dane County (just south of Madison I believe). Thanks for your interest.

Where in Wisconsin do you believe "your" David BURNS settled, and when? When was he born? What were his wife's and children's names? I notice the 1860 census indexes a 17-year-old David BURNS who was born in VT. In 1870 I don't find this individual indexed in any state with a birthplace of VT.

Their son David survived the Civil War having been a member of one or both of the above Vermont regiments. I believe he settled in Wisconsin with his wife (from Canada) and his four children. The information ends there. I would appreciate any leads that might shed some light on his service in the Civil War and his life as a farmer in Wisconsin. I recovered his Civl War ID disc in McLean Virginia on the grounds of what was camp Griffith, a large Vermont camp. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If so, what type of information do you have available? Are you descended from this family? Other than what I mentioned in my first message, I have only approximate birthyears and birthplaces for some of them from a partial 1930 census listing. I know that one of the siblings is still alive; however I am unable to obtain detailed info from that person. I have just begun searching, and anything could be a good lead to more of the family! Thanks!
