My ggg grandfather was Philo Platt. I have not been able to go back any further than him, and know very little about him. He was born about 1813 in NY; lived in Dresden Station just down from Ft Ann according to the 1840 census; and it is indicated in the 1880 census that his father was born in VT. Philo married someone named Polly, and they had 3 children known to me, Otis, Mira, and Steven. Is there any link to your Platt? Thanks, Carol

I have his older brother, Abjiah living in St. Albans VT and dying there in 1840 - Nathan and Jonas..older brothers settled in Pittsfield, VT Two younger brothers, David and Asa I have no information on them. I found the old DAR record when I requested the files from the DAR this was a number of years ago. I have the papers to join, but have never filled them out...but suppose I should take the time in order to correct the information.

There is a copy in the Seattle Library. The incorrect DAR information is on my Isaac Stone, son of Nathanial Stone and Thankful Morse. His birth is listed in the New Ipswich, New Hampshire town records along with is brother's and sisters. It seems there was a Nathanial and Isaac about every other generation. My Isaac was born 7, August 1771 and married a Eunice Tracy in Vermont. I have this record and the family bible from 1848 that gives the same date for his birth. The DAR records I have seen have him married to someone else. I suppose there could be another mistake relating to the first Issac. I don't know. I am still very interested in your connection to my Lt. Nathanial Stone and his wife Thankful Morse. Sharon

I am from his son Issac and have tried for years to put together the brothers of Issac. I know a couple went to Northern Vermont and into Canada...Issac removed from Pittsfield to Indiana. Would you mind sharing your information. I might also add that information on the DAR records regarding Issac is incorrect. I think Isaac's mother died when he was very young and the family must have held Rhoda Goddard in high esteem because there was a child named Rhoda in Issac's family.

They are listed without children on 1850-1870 censuses, ages about 60-80. Luther was b. in NY and Mary in VT/NH. Luther is also listed 1830 and 1840, with possible children in 1830. In 1850 his occupation is Baptist Clergyman, and clergyman in 1860. From History of the Town of Enosburgh, by George Adams: The Baptist church at East Enosburgh was organized Oct. 26, 1810, consisting of 11 members—6 males and 5 females; Joseph Waller first deacon. Elder Luther Cole was ordained in 1823.... I think this Luther, b. about 1790, might be the son of Nathan Cole and Judith Colburn. That Luther was b. in Berkshire Co., MA, about 5 years before the family moved to Saratoga Co., NY. Does anyone have any further info on him?
HI, Just reading the August 29, 2005 issue of the News and Citizen and there was an article about the visitation of former town of Sterling, Now part of Morrisville, Cambridge and Johnson. In the article they stated that there would be events at the Dodge Family Homestead on Route 108, Jeffersonville. Since there has been a DODGE who was helpful with my WESCOM inquiries I wanted to pass this on. Harriet in NH

Also need parents for both if known. They may have had two children, Anna born in 1869 and another only know as initials R.C. born about 1872.
