    3. Hi Bill, I thought I would answer since I have a copy and it is in front of me. "The History of Swanton, Vermont" was published by the Swanton Historical Society, Inc., At the Library, Swanton, Vermont. It was printed by Northlight Studio Press, Barre, Vermont. As far as when it begins, these are the first few chapter and section headings: Chapter 2 - In the Beginning - Prehistoric Times - The Abenakis Chapter 3 - Early History - Under the French Flag, etc. Pretty much it begins prior to the Europeans and takes it on through modern times. I just looked at the Swanton Historical Society page and the Vermont Historical Society page and didn't see where the book is for sale at either site so I expect that it is out of print. I got my copy on eBay. It was originally published in 1988. By the way, Tom Ledoux who is the Webmaster of "Vermont in the Civil War" is the son of Rodney Ledoux, the author. Dave Constantine in Boston [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Wolfe Marge or Winfred, Does either of you know from what period the "History of Swanton Vermont" begins? Surnames: Wells Welles Wiles Wills Wels Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pAC.2ACI/354.983.2.1 Message Board Post: Bonnie: I would love to know more about Justin. In fact, would you be interested in submitting a gedcom of your Wells genealogy research to be merged with other Wells researchers? The project originally began as only the lineages for people who had participated in the Wells Surname DNA Study (by a living Wells male). I did expand the scope when there were so many that were unable to find a 'living Wells male' descended from their Wells line. In fact, any Wells researcher can join the Wells genealogy merge project (approved by the coordinator of the Wells Surname DNA Study, Orin Wells ... http://www.wells.org ). I just need a gedcom or a backup of Wells genealogy database for all descendants of your eldest Wells ancestor. I will eliminate anyone born after 1900 for privacy if you can not do it. (Please do not output the ancestor born after 1900 without birth data .. I can not tell if they were born after 1900 or that you just did not know the birth date. If you are concerned, put the word "LIVING" in place of the birthdate.) Send the gedcom or genealogy software backup to [email protected] Make sure to tell me if you line has a DNA tested ID number or they are 'non-tested'. Bonita
