Sarah was born about 1769 in New Salem, MA. The couple had fivechildren. Stephen Peabody Meacham b. 12 Mar 1797 Burlington, VT. and Temma Meacham, b. 24 Sep 1799, in Fletcher, VT. Jeremiah, b. 28 Jul 1801, Hannah, b, 28 Apr 1803 and Joseph, b. 18 May 1806. A family history suggests that Thomas Meecham became a celebrated hunter in New York. Are they in your family lines? I belive Thomas Meacham was born 12 Jan 1858 in Lawrence, NY. and he left his wife and children and possibly remarried. Close friend is very keen to find this mother and her children's family.

    3. I posed the question of how Three Rivers got its name to the Palmer Library. Here is the reply of Mary Bernat, Reference Librarian. Perhaps this will help you in terms of where to center your research: "Three Rivers MA is one of the 4 villages that make up the town of Palmer. Originally it was known as "The Dark Corner" for its dense, jungle-like growth. "But in January 1826, a new manufacturing company was granted the right to establish a mill for the manufacture of cotton, linen and woolen goods in the Town of Palmer. The name was 'The Three Rivers Manufacturing Co.' But the village wasn't officially recognized until 1829 when the plan of the village of Three Rivers was placed on record at the Hampden County Registry of Deeds and mapped out by Hall Jackson Kelly, engineer. "The village is situated of the upper Chicopee Valley at the junction of the Quaboag and Ware Rivers which join to form the headwaters of the Chicopee." ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 19, 2006 10:22 PM Subject: [VTFRANKL] Esther Mason Parrow of Swanton > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: MASON, RUSSELL, PARROW > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pAC.2ACI/2169 > > Message Board Post: > > Searching for the parentage of Esther Mason b. 30 Jun 1832 married Edward N. 3. Hi also a note on the "three Rivers area" this may have been named after the three rivers "Troisriviers" area in Quebec, alot of families from Quebec moved down to work in the mills and often moved back after afew years. Ironically the Russells and Reynolds and Coreys migrated from the Berkshire County Hancock area to Quebec during the Revolutionary war and named the area in St.Armand "Hancock Hill" there is a cemenatary there called the Russell cememtary aka "Hancock hill" my ancestors are buried there. Right across the border from highgate Vt. one of my Reynolds branches marries a Russell then they settle in Frankilin Vt one town over from Sheldon. Is the three Rivers area near Hancock? Carollee Reynolds, are we going in cirrcles yet? Katherine Ayers <[email protected]> wrote: In various census years, there were Mason families in Swanton, Sheldon, Highgate, and Fairfax. Was this your family? They were in Boston. He was an iron moulder. In 1880 there was an Edward Parrow, married but no spouse or children listed. He was about 48, born in VT. He was a moulder. He was in Watervliet, Albany County, NY. With reference to Three Rivers village, the Palmer area had several mills, primarily textile mills. During your time frame, there were probably jobs there. 2. The Town Clerk is in the town of Palmer, MA because Three Rivers, MA is a one of three villages in the Town of Palmer. I know this because I was born in Three Rivers and grew up in Bondsville another one of the villages in the Town of Palmer. If you can get a Death Certificate it will give you the parentage and may even give you a birth place of the parents. 3. Yes, I believe that is the cemetery you pass on the way to Egypt Rd.-just west of the center of Bakersfield, to the west of the highway that leads north to Enosburg. I knew it was a Catholic cemetery but didn't remember the name. It's a few miles on a winding road-the cemetery is on the right with a wrought iron fence. Joanne Saltman
