    3. Joe, You said: "I just found my Canadian Grand Uncle Frederick W. BISSETT in the St Albans census for 1900. Unfortunately, the copy is soooo bad where his information is written that I can't read the name of his wife, nor his young son. He lived on Main Street in a rented house, but I don't know the number." I offered to check my local roll of film. It had to be ordered and just came. I found a fairly clear page. Frederick W.'s wife is Lilly, son is Frederick (middle initial ?), daughter is Ultra May. I also found a Bissett, Amidon (Amidor) as a lodger in household of Willet #129-146 of St. Albans. Amidon's birthdate is Aug 1816 he is a widower and is 83. I have to look at film again and will get page number. Direct email your address to me and I will send you copies. Erin

    3. Looking for information on David and Pamelia (Record) Herrick, who are in Middletown, Rutland Co. in 1800. They are in Highgate, Franklin Co. in 1810 and 1820. They are in Sheldon, Franklin Co. in 1830. Pamelia Herrick is in St. Albans, Franklin Co. in 1850, listed with Gould and Viletta Buck and family. I believe Viletta is probably a daughter of David and Pamelia Herrick. Can anyone help me with additional information on this family? Joann Nichols

I am searching for info on the Family of Joseph Cummings (dit Viens) b. abt.. 1845-1865 in Dunham, Quebec and married to Maggie Duval (could be Dorval). Their children Theophilus (Theodore) b.1876, George b. 1882 and Rose b. 1887, suspect first 2 born in Cowansville, Quebec and Rose in VT. Theophilus m. Mary Westover George m. Hattie Flood (my grandparents) Rose m. Charles A. Ford Hattie died 1918-1925 (in PA?) and George remarried to Charlotte Collins in PA. In 1957 Rose was still living in St. Albans, VT. Geo. & Hattie had: Baby male 1906, Veriona (Vinona?) 1908, Ralph 1910, Clement 1912-1913, Daymond 1913-1914, Aleta May 1915, and One (Ona) Alene 1917 (all born in Franklin Co. or nearby). I would very much like to contact descendants of Rose and any of Geo. and Hattie's other children, in the hopes of more ancestry info. I have recently made contact with a cousins from Geo.'s second marriage and with descendants of Theodore. I received a photo of George in a uniform (probably school). The uniform has a military appearance. Does anyone know of a military school or a school that used that style of dress for their male students (may have been a male only school). Thank you for any assistance. Erin

    1. Hello again :>
    2. Clare
    3. Hi, I wrote yesterday and wanted to answer some of the questions I'm getting. First of all, PLEASE send your introduction and any info about your county or name TO THE LIST. I'm just administering the list and have no information for anyone :> You can find the list name in the TO: space above. Second, "to adopt a list" means to accept responsibility for the list, sub and unsub people who are having trouble doing it themselves, and building the list by talking on it and helping researchers to discuss their names and counties. You do NOT do any research for them. For the surnames lists, go here to adopt: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/sponsors.html and for the counties go here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/clusters/adoptcounty.html Please go here: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/wizards/ to see more about what administering a list means. I'm glad to help anyone but if you have research to share or discuss or questions about that, please send it directly to the list :> -- Clare Peden Midgley mailto:Clare@RootsWeb.com Allegheny Co, PA Genealogy: http://www.rootsweb.com/~paallegh/ For SUBSCRIBE info and MORE LISTS: http://communities.rootsweb.com/ FREE ###### FREE ###### FREE UNLIMITED WEB SPACE: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/acctform.cgi

    1. Looking for St. Albans records - Enos P. Sisco
    2. David J. Ellis
    3. I'm trying to track down Enos P. Sisco. I have a copy of a marriage record showing his marriage to Lavina A. Boomhower on 20-Jan-1848 listing residence of both bride and groom as St. Albans. The record itself is stamped Burlington VT and signed M. C. ?Graudy? town clerk. I'm not certain if that means the marriage took place in Burlington or whether the record was merely filed in Burlington. Aside from that it also shows that Rev. H. L. Starks performed the ceremony. 1. Has anyone come across Enos P. Sisco? 2. Does anyone know which church Rev H. L. Starks was associated with? I also have been told that Lavina Boomhower died in 19-Apr-1886 and is buried in St. Albans. I do not know which cemetery. However, some descendents are in "St. Albans Point cemetery" so that might be the case with her. If I can locate her burial record I'm hoping that may also lead to Enos. 3. Is anyone able to identify which cemetery she might be in? 4. Lastly, the long shot. I've uncovered a record for a Uri Sisco who married a Ruby Potter in Swanton on 20-Mar-1823. They had a son called Lucius Sisco who died 31-Jan-1850 in St. Albans and is buried in St. Albans Point cemetery. I'm wondering if this family might be the connection to Enos. Any information on this family would be welcomed.

    1. WARNER FAMILY OF SWANTON, FRANKLIN CO, VT
    2. paula
    3. I have just joined this list hoping to find out more about my husband's ancestors who lived in Franklin County in the late 1700s and mid 1800s. Lavina (or Lavinia) WARNER, was b in Swanton, Franklin Co VT 12 May 1801, m at Swanton 23 Sep 1818, Lyman K.(KINNEY?) BABCOCK son of Elias and Huldah (KINNEY) BABCOCK. Lyman and Lavinia had at least 13 children in Swanton, (William, Warner Daniel C., George W., Elias S., Sanford G., Lyman Allen, Chauncey S., Delight P., Melissa Almira, James Madison, Electa Ann, Elias Jackson, and Louise Adelaide. The family moved to Dodge Co., WI sometime between 1843 and 1855. Who were the parents of Lavina? Was she a daughter of John WARNER, son of the John WARNER who m first a HURLBURT and second Joanna and was a brother of Seth WARNER? I suspect this is the case, but have found no documentation to prove or disprove this. I'd like to hear from anyone researching the Swanton WARNERs, and would like to exchange information on BABCOCK, KINNEY and any other related families. I'd also welcome any suggestions as to how I might continue my research on Lavina WARNER. Paula in Arizona

    1. Some Help Please - Joab Hoit/Hoyt
    2. Hello: I am looking for some information regarding the death/cemetery of a Joab Hoit/Hoyt. He was born in Rutland, VT about 1785. His parents were Nathan Hoit/Hoyt and Mary Olmstead. He lived many years in Ohio but there are no records of his death there and since his mother Mary Olmstead is buried in Fairfield, Franklin VT. I though perhaps he might have been buried there also or in the same vicinity. Thank you for any help - Anne
