SURNAMES - Sisco, Boomhower, Schoolcraft, Popple, Ducat, Medor/Cayie/Cahah/Kiyie/Kayie, Potter, St.Pitie Its a long list of names and the towns are not specific. The primary families are SISCO and MEDOR from Swanton. Peter Medor (born Medor Cayie/Cahah [and many other spellings] 03-May-1814 PQ - probably St. Regis) married Marguerite Julia St.Pitie (born 10-Aug-1814 PQ - probably St. Regis). Large number of descendents in Swanton area. Enos Sisco born abt 1825 in "VT" - probably Swanton or St. Albans area. Married Lavina Boomhower in 1848. Lavina was daughter of Aura Schoolcraft and Jacob Boomhower, both born between Jul-Sep 1794 in NY (Jacob in Brunswick, Rensselaer Co., NY, U.S.A. and Aura probably Albany Co or Schenectady Co.). Boomhowers have been well researched and documented by others. I'm actively working on Aura's family and need any help I can get with brothers or sisters. She and Jacob lived in Stanbridge PQ, in St. Albans and in Swanton. Back to Enos Sisco - the evidence is strengthening that he's the son of Uri Sisco and Ruby/Roby Potter (born bet 1805-1807 in VT). I need all the help I can get with this family. There are a scattering of Sisco's in the area in the early 1800s but not much data to relate them. The big groups of Sisco's are near Troy, Orleans Co. and near Rutland. I don't know which group Uri came from or whether he's unrelated. Louis Ducat born abt 1867 in Swanton is son of Mitchell Ducat and Saloma Seymour. Louis married Lovina Sisco in Swanton and had a son, Orrison Sisco Ducat born 26-Nov-1902 in Randolf, Orange Co., VT. Shortly after that, Lovina returned to Swanton and remarried. We can find no trace of what happened to her first husband or to her first son, despite the very recent date. I'm willing to provide my info to others and always on the lookout for something I may have missed. Just let me know if you think I have something that can help you.

    3. As this list seems a little inactive at the moment here is what I propose: Let's have a ROLL CALL, beginning now and ending Sunday night at midnight. PLEASE include the TOWN(s) and SURNAME for the FRANKLIN CO VT ancestor you are hunting IN THE SUBJECT LINE, and give more information about your ancestors - including dates and migration and spouses' surnames - in the message part of your post, so that you can get maximum benefit from this roll call. Please DO NOT place the words ROLL CALL in the subject line as many persons delete this, I am doing this to create some list activity and exchanging of infoand deletes will help no one. Please assist with any of the ROLL CALL posts that you possibly can - if we all focus together these next few days, we can maximize our efforts for the benefit of all of us.
