I have ordered them and used them at a Family History Center. For Highgate: Film #0028309 is Town and Vital Records Vol. 1-2B, 1794-1895. Film # 221068 is card index to marriages and births in Highgate, 1800-1895. For Swanton: Film 2210843, Swanton Vital Records, 1793-1852. My note on this is: "Very few early records, most are between 1825 and 1907." Film #0847996, Town records Vol 2, 1823-1903. 3. Try checking the 1850 census for Chase families living in Franklin County, VT. If you have access to Ancestry.com, you could look for Edwin Chase in 1850. Good luck, Joann Nichols Vicki Scearce wrote: > How else can I search for Edwin CHASE,born in Montgomery,Franklin co,Vermont? The official Web site of the town, at: http://www.enosburghvermont.org/ says this: "Enosburgh includes the village Enosburg Falls and the locations Bordoville, East Enosburgh, North Enosburgh, Samsonville, West Enosburgh, and Enosburgh Center. Enosburgh was named for Roger Enos, who had been a commander of all the Vermont Forces in the American Revolution. He was also Ira Allen's father-in-law. Curiously the spelling of Enosburgh differs from the spelling of Enosburg Falls." Darrell

    2. VRD
    3. Kathy, This does get a little confusing. The spelling of the town is "Enosburgh", however the village is "Enosburg Falls" with that spelling. The town of Enosburgh, Vermont includes the village Enosburg Falls and the locations Bordoville, East Enosburgh, North Enosburgh, Samsonville, West Enosburgh, and Enosburgh Center. You will find that many natives use the shortened version for the East, North, West and Center localities of the town. Enosburgh was named for Ira Allen's father-in-law, Roger Enos, who had been a commander of all the Vermont Forces in the American Revolution. Hope this helps. Vern

It is William Moore. That is the name listed on her death certificate. There is NO original birth record for Sarah. She was born in 1835 and the town records don't go back that far. I looked in Swanton and Highgate, where I believe she was born. Donna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: KirstenSaxe Surnames: Barr, Saxe, Weaver Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.franklin/1723.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am a descendant of John Saxe who married Catherine Weaver, and I have been aware of the Barr connection for some time. Today I received an email from a man from a Barr line that may or may not be related to the line of Conrad Barr, and it stimulated my interest in him. The Saxe family genealogy states that John Saxe came to America with a friend. It has been a while since I did this, but I think that when I checked passenger lists for John Saxe, I found a John Sachse on the same ship with a Conrad Barr. The Saxe family kept records, and the 1930 Saxe Genealogy says that John Saxe was born in Langensalza, Germany, which is now known as Bad Langensalza. I don't know when or where John Saxe met the friend who immigrated with him, but I suspect that Conrad Barr was that friend. Don't take my word for it, though. Check passenger lists for Philadelphia circa 1750 and make you own best guess if Conrad's line is of interest to you. It might be possible to learn more by using recor! ds such as the church records for Langensalza or records for Weavers in Philadelphia. John's wife Catherine Weaver is said to have been born in Philadelphia to German parents in 1744 if I am remembering my information from the genealogy correctly. Someday I would like to learn more about my Weaver ancestors. Kirsten Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
