Does this means you have information that shows that Benedict and/or his father Benedict lived in Bakersfield, Fletcher, Franklin County? I appreciated very much the information you sent, as it confirms what I have also. What has always puzzled me is how Benedict Roys disappears from the usual records in Claremont, NH. suddenly, as does his son. And I did not know where he went to. Then I found something online that indicated a move to Bakersfield, etc. It is there life there that I am interested in. I do not descend from the younger Benedict Roys, but from his probably sister, Fanny. But I would love to know what happened to Benedict Roys senior, and his wife, Eliza. I am fascinated by your ancestor, Hezekiah. I have to check my records, but I discovered that Esther Bunnell and some of the Royces were involved in quasi Royalist activities in Connecticut and also New Hampshire. If you are at all interested in that stuff, I can get you that information. You might already have it. Thanks again. If you have any ideas about Bakersfield and environs, how I might get more information about the Royses there, let me know. I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the CROSBY Family. The first is a photograph of Horace & Adda CROSBY taken in the early 1900's with no studio or location identified. The couple appears to be in their 60's or 70's at the time the photograph was taken. The second photograph is identified as Hannah BALLARD CROSBY wife of Frank W. CROSBY. This photograph was taken at the Clara Ensminger Studio in Toledo, Iowa, likely sometime in the 1890's or early 1900's as well with Hannah appearing to be in her 70's at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the family: Horace Sidney CROSBY was b. 1841 in Royal Oaks, MI to parents Henry Sibley CROSBY (b. 24 Jul 1788 in Stillwater, NY) and Sarah Ann CAPRON (b. 7 Sep 1801 in Cortlandt, NY). Horace was one of 12 children born to this couple including, Francis William; Amos Leander; Dewitt Clinton; Mary Louisa; Newton Franklin; Corinthia Minerva; Caroline Frances; Robert Dale Owen; Spencer Sibley; Horace Sidney; Amarilia Lantha; and Arthur Welton CROSBY all born between 1823 and 1847. This was Henry's 2nd marriage, his first marriage was to Lydia Joanna WILKIE with whom he had 4 children including, William Wilkie; Cornelia Ann; Henry Willard; and Wilke Darrow CROSBY born between 1815 and 1822. Horace married Adda Almira or Elmira KINGDON b. 27 Jul 1851 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Samuel Drew KINGDON and ? WONDERLAND on 20 Feb 1874 in Georgetown, CO. The couple had 5 children including, Alfred L.; Annie J.; Elsie Mabel; Florence E.; and Jessie Leonora CROSBY all born in CO between 1874 and 1888. Horace died 8 Jan 1920 or 1921 in Woodinville, WA and Adda on 4 or 5 Sept 1927 in Sequim, WA. Francis William CROSBY b. 23 Jul 1823 in Schenectady, NY married Hannah Everett BALLARD on 3 Apr 1849 in Decatur, OH. The couple had 6 children including, Mary Alice; Effie; William Otis; Robert Emmett; Frances Eunice; and Nellie Capron CROSBY all born in Decatur, OH and Toledo, IA between 1850 and 1861. Francis died 22 Dec 1909 and Hannah died in Washington DC on 30 Dec 1909. Hannah Everett BALLARD was b. 24 Feb 1822 or 1824 in Sparta, OH to parents Frederick BALLARD (b. 17 Jul 1780 in New London, NH) and Achsah EVERETT (b. 18 Feb 1784 in New London, CT).
