Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/pAC.2ACI/2108.2.1.2 Message Board Post: Regarding the son, I think his name was more likely Caleb Austin Stevens as I looked in the census for an Austin Stevens and found only one but his parents lived with him in one record - not Caleb & Sarah's. Sarah's 2nd husband was John Risden of Fletcher. I have only the names of 2 of their children: Oliver F. & Stephen Risden. Stephen had a family there but John, Sally and Oliver are off the census by 1860. I live in Florida so am not very familiar with the Fletcher cemeteries. I know that there is a Binghamville Cemetery there where many of my ancestors are buried. I am vaguely recalling the name Risden from letters from a cousin many years ago - perhap a land sale our something. Will have to go back through alot of paper work to confirm.

In the Newbury History it lists her as SARAH AUSTIN and not SALLY AUSTIN. Do you know if there is any way to verify her name? Is there a grave marker for her anywhere? Also, verification of her marriage to to Dr. Caleb Stevens and to Mr. Risden? You also mentioned their son Austin Stevens and the Newbury Town History lists him as Caleb Austin Stevens. Is it the same son. Are there any grave markers into the 1700's in Enosburg for Stevens. Many thanks for the reply! Sarah Emberley

At first the members met in different homes. Between 1816 and 1820 the Baptists and Congregationalists built a meeting house at Swanton Center, Vermont. 2. Harriet E. Cady
    3. HI, Does this mean anything to others on the list who have RIVERS or WESCOM in their family lineage in VT or Canada? Harriet in NH We do not have much information on Jocko Rivers or his wife Mary Everlett. They literally disappear. They may have died bef. 1860 because we find both Victoria and a younger brother Paschal living with her sister Nancy Rivers Wescom in the census. Then Victoria marries Henry's brother Charles. I read somewhere that Nancy went homed and lived with her father in the 1860's because the brothers were off in the Civil War (along with Mitchell). However I can not locate Jocko or Mary in the 1860 census. In 1870, Nancy and Henry and family move to NH until their deaths after 1914. I have Victoria died 1-21-1906 in Enosberg, Franklin, VT. Jocko could be a French variation to Jacobus. I have not found Jocko in any other census. [I am beginning to believe that he changed his name frequently, i.e. Joseph and or Paschal. I have found a Paschal & Mary meeting the right ages. Paschal usually a surname (i.e. Pascal) or French origin, meaning a lamb sacrifice at Passover.] JAQUES: French form of Jacob JACOB: From the Hebrew, meaning "held by the heel, "hence" one who holds back another. James is the popular English form. Variant Forms: Jacobus, Jakob, Jacke, Iago, Seumuis, Santiago, Yago, Coppo, Como, Lapo, Jacobo, Jacopo, Giacobbe, James, Jemmy, Jamie, Akkoobjee, Hamish, Jaap.
