If you view it through Google books, you'll be able to just scroll through all the pages at once, whereas through Heritage Quest it page by page. I think you can even download it from google books as well. I briefly looked at the index yesterday and the names that do show up may be the families who were in the area at the time of the start of the town. The founding families so to speak.     3. Hello Tina, When time permits would you kindly see if an Alexandre Murphy and spouse Marie Louise Godard Murphy are listed. Both emigrated from Quebec (he from St Jean sur Richlieu, she from Longueuil). They married in 1868 and lived in St Albans for several years after which they both disappear into a brick wall. My great grandfather, Oren Kellogg was born in Franklin Co., but what town nobody knows. His parents were Warren and Clara P. Kellogg. I have looked at several census records and so far no clues.     2. Hi Tina, Will you check your book for Timothy Harrington? He and his wife, Mary and children Julia, Timothy and Henry were living in Sheldon, Franklin County at the time of the 1830 and 1840 Censuses. Richard

I am looking for info on Joseph Bates and his family. There are two Joseph Bates in the area for a while so I am looking for the one who lived from 1793-1866 and whose father I believe to be Oliver. I do NOT need any info on the Joseph whose parents are Jonathan and Mehitable. They are the wrong parents for my Joseph. My Joseph went to Quebec, married a woman there and moved back to VT before heading to Ohio. I guess the info I am trying to find out is if his father is Oliver and who his mother is. Thanks a lot! She was born maybe about 1790 and she married Reuben Willard. Reuben was born about 1777, either Harvard, MA or Chesterfield, NH. He was in Highgate during the War of 1812. He probably met Samantha while there. She would have been his 2nd wife. His 1st wife was a Nancy Reed, who may have died in Highgate.
