(Sentinel 11 Feb 1839) - ------------------------------ Thursday morning 14 Feb 1839: Fatal accident, Young man named Pierre Laronge, a Canadian living with Mr. Stanton of Essex, killed instantly on Tues 5th inst, while loading his sled with mill logs. He was alone at time and when found was literally smashed to pieces, the logs apparently fallen in a mass while loading. The young man was known for industrious habits and much respected. - ----------------------------------------- Interspersed are notes that issues are missing and some pages are torn and a few are quite dim but all in all they are in good condition.
