The following are the requests I received to check out while in Vermont. I can't promise a thing. Buffy from this list hooked me up with another direct descendent from our Patrick and Bridget Kehoe!!! She has their immigration papers, letters that our guy from Wisconsin wrote to his parents while he claimed land in Wisconsin in 1850~~!! I'm so excited that I have already left the ground with out the plane. Our plans have changed from sitting in libraries and town clerks offices, to pouring over old pictures and seeing if my husband's nose really is one of those "famous" Kehoe noses. When people say "who needs the internet", I'm the first to jump up and say "I DO!". Look how far it's taken us in such a short time. He went to UVM medical school, became a psychiatrist The only info he has is that a great uncle Sam was a pharmacist in Rutland, and that his greatgrandfather was Pierre and Canadian. In case anyone requires proof of death, he is on the Social Security Death Index-#007-32-4312 and his obit in on Ancestry.com in database titled "Patriot Ledger (Quincy, Mass) Obits 1993-1999- Bob Brown bobalu_snb@ionet.net My ancestors who resided in Charlotte were Calvin Powell and his wife Maria Gray. My ancestor came from Canada and lived for a time in Burlington. I list the four names for the French mcschroe@mail.willmar.com Please, I have 2 very scarce ancestors who lived in Bolton or West Bolton in 1850-56, probably earlier, too. I need any tidbit which can be found. Any info you run across on SNOW or WEBSTER would be very much appreciated. The specific people are Harvey SNOW and wife Sarah WEBSTER. I think they were Baptist. Sarah died about 1856 and should be buried in Chittenden Co. Harvey adopted out the 2 kids to his brother in Wis. and disappeared. Laura Emily SNOW, born 04 Jan. 1850 in Bolton or West Bolton, Chittenden County, VT to Harvey R. SNOW and Sarah Esther WEBSTER. The parents are recorded there on the 1850 census. I have some land papers Harvey and Sarah signed up until 1856, which is when Sarah died (burial place unknown). Harvey SNOW has disappeared. Laura Emily SNOW was raised by Orson SNOW, wife Polly GROUT, who were married 1848 in Dodge County, WI. Orson and Polly thus probably 'got' Laura about 1856, when she was 6 years old; I don't know how she (or her brother) travelled to WI at that age. Laura SNOW married in Mar 1870 in Columbia County, WI to James B. Dunn; I have a copy of that marriage certificate, which names Orson and Polly as her parents though they were really her aunt and uncle. Thus, if there are any formal adoption papers for Laura SNOW, they might be in Columbia or Dodge Co. 1856-1870. Rob Bowe srbowe@wolf.co.net If you run across anything with the name Bowe or Bow, please let me know. Pat Palmer toots@premier1.net Amos Patterson b:4/1832. He was born in Chittenden county and have no clue who his parents were but think his father was born in Canada and Amos lived there for a time as a small boy. The census shows a Robert and John - one in 1830 the other 1840. I thought maybe Pattersons would Jim Leogue seamus64@bellsouth.net Hickok (and variant spellings) family of VT. My brick wall is my wife's GGGF Myron Nye Hickok. According to the 1850 census of NY he was born in VT but I have had no luck in locating his parents. Would appreciate your keeping an eye out for good old Myron as well as any other Myron Hickok's that you come across. Myron was born abt. 1796 and was in Malone, NY by the time of the 1830 census. SLittmann@aol.com SNYDER My ggggrandfather was Jacob Snyder, moved to Huntington, Chittenden County in the late 1780's. He had several children, including a Jacob, Jr., and his son Hiram Snyder. It is from those Snyders that I am descended. Hiram (my greatgreat grandfather) took a second wife named Sophronia White, daughter of William White of Williston (although William White did live in Huntington earlier).
