--WebTV-Mail-7559-767 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit I will try to do a little searching for you the next time I go to the WI State Historical Library in Madison. Wisconsin did not become a State until 1848 and records before 1907 are rather spotty for birth, marriage and death. I am looking for WATSON Family members. My gr gr grandfather, Jermiah was suppose to be born in VT in 1804. I have looked at old census records, 1800 and on, being there is so little info on them, am having a really hard time trying to figure out just where in VT he was born. In the 1820 census I find some Watsons in Milton, am not quite sure if they are mine, but have to start somewhere. I think Jeremiah had a brother named Mark and one named Jacob, all this is guess work. I have Mark born in l8l0 and Jacob born in 1806. Jermiah eventually moves to Freedom, Catt Cty, NY where his first son is born, I believe he also married there in NY to a Melinda Heath. In 1850 he is in Town of Troy, Walworth Cty, WI. I did travel to WI and to the town of Troy and to the Walworth Courthouse and also the Courthouse in Jefferson, but could not find anything on Jeremiah. At the time I did not look for any records on Mark or Jacob and now realize I should have as maybe it would lead me to info on Jeremiah. Mark & Jacob and spouses are buried in Evergreen Cemetary in Troy Center as is either Jeremiah or his wife, Melinda, or both of them. We did find a tombstone which was broken in half and know that it is ours, but could not make out if it was for both or one of them. Would you have access to Land records or death records for any of the members of this clan? I live in a suburb of St. Paul, MN and do have access to MN Historical Library and their records and would be happy to help anyone in this area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
