Hi---if you recall I was trying to locate a marriage record for 1837 for RICHARD E LOOMIS and FIDELIA CLOFF/CLUFF. First I wrote to Montpelior who responded that they had no records (and kept my money)...Then I wrote to the town clerk of Charlotte, Chittenden Co and this was her response: "Sorry -- No records were found -- our vital records only go back to approx. 1857." and she returned my check.....Now what???
