I have done research in Winooski in the past and they have records that go back quite a ways. I've never asked them to do any research for me, so I don't know about that or what they charge. As to church records, there is St. Francois Xavier church which was the French church and was founded in 1868. The American Canadian Genealogical Society in Manchester NH has published the Marriage and Burial records, for St. Francois. I have a copy and checked for Saltus and didn't find anything. But I also know that the old records weren't either kept well or complete, because I know some of my ancestors are buried there but are not listed. There is also St. Stephen's in Winooski, which was the Irish church I believe, and I don't know if they have a cemetary. If anyone wants something looked up in the St. Francois books I will gladly do it though it may take me some time as I am very busy right now with work and home, but I will try. Remember though the records don't start till 1868 and are mainly French Canadian families. I can be e-mailed at pacochran29@hotmail.com.
