I sent away to Montpelier, Vt. for a copy of a marriage certificate for RICHARD E LOOMIS and FIDELIA CLOFF/CLUFF who were supposedly married on June 9, 1837 in Charlotte, Chittenden Co., Vt.....They responded that they had no records for said people.............What does this mean? That THEY don't have these records or that this marriage did not take place??? Should I try the town clerk in Charlotte??????? HELP> Juanita
