I had the same experience. I sent in $21.00 for three records. They came back (in a very short period of time) all marked "No record found". There are three possible explanations that I can think of offhand. 1. The clerk in the office did not even bother to look. Just marked the record "not found" and kept the money for the State of VT. 2. The marriage took place at home and was not recorded officially. 3. The birth took place at home and was also not recorded officially. I would like to locate a number of records in VT but I fear that I will have the same result--"no record found" but we are keeping your money. It would be helpful if there was some way to find a list of churches for various time periods in the towns of VT and perhaps a record exists of marriages and baptisms by the minister. Another thought would be to contact the town clerk or local historian. I don't know if this information is available on line. Anyone?? Nancy Vogt
