This is for JoAnn, who asked about OWEN marriages into the CASTLE family: "Julius Augustus OWEN (Elijah, Joshua, Joseph, John), son of Elijah and Olive (BEMON) Owen, was born at Salisbury, Conn. 23 April 1769 and died at Harvard, Illinois in 1849. As a child he moved with his parents to Milton, Vt. He married (1) about 1799 MEHITABLE CASTLE of Milton; (2) REBECCA MURRAY on Oct. 1811 at Fairfax, Vt. She was the widow of Zadock CLARK. Julius had seven children by his first wife and three by his second. Children (born at Milton): i. Elonson, b. 7 May 1800; d. 1888. ii. Clarissa, b. 1802; d. 1866. iii. Julia, b. 1804; d. _____. She was married to Enos DAY. Children (surname DAY): 1. Melvina Day, m Charles TRUMBULL, who was killed in the Civil War. Two children, a son and a daughter. 2. Julia Day, m. Horace CHAMBERLAIN; no children. She died at Brasher falls, N.Y. 3. Alci Day, a soldier in Civil War; died in hospital at Memphis, Tenn. iv. Eliza, b. 1806. v. Alvin, d. in infancy. vi.
