    3. Many of the FC family names were grossly misspelled and/or anglicized. Some were even badly misspelled anglicized names. They only way I was able to find some of my PARADIS, POIRIER, and MASSE family members was to read the whole census, line by line. For example, one of my POIRIERs was spelled PRAYER, another PERIA, and still others PORRIER. I was able to determine that the PRAYER listed was my POIRIER based on the first names and ages. Although National archives has earlier indexes, they don't have 1870 census index except for mortality schedule which is where I found my great great grandmother's death note. I was listed as Corney rather than Courcy, but microfilm was clearly Courcy without any reference of page where census info for rest of family should have been listed. Thanks again Ted Richard
