I was going through a book I have "Histoire de la Congregation Canadienne de Winooski, au Vermont" by J.-F. Audet (the first pastor of St. Francois Xavier in Winooski), which was published in 1906. The following info might be of help to somone. In 1814 these famillies came to Winooski Despins, Cotard & Chaillot. En 1816 Augustin Davignon of Chambly came. In 1826 & 1828 a number of families came from the parishes of Chamb;u. Ste-Marie de Monnoir, St Jean Baptiste de Rouville and alos Vercheres. The Lafontaines, the Damme, the Labossiere, the Leclaire, the Brault, the Goyette, the Domingue, the Picotte, the Pepin, the Foisy, the Allard, the Niquet immigrated during this time. Years later about 1840 to 1845, the Maher, the Villemaire, of St. Henri de Mascouche, the Cormier, the Mongeon, the Lavallee of the Comte de Vercheres. These were the famillies that were listed. There is also an a list of those persons who contributed to the founding of St. Francois between 1868 and 1883. It's to long to list here but if someone wants a name looked up I will be glad to do it. Phil
