Hi, thanks for responding, to the best of my knowlege, soundexe didn't start until the 1880 census. Although National archives has earlier indexes, they don't have 1870 census index except for mortality schedule which is where I found my great great grandmother's death note. I was listed as Corney rather than Courcy, but microfilm was clearly Courcy without any reference of page where census info for rest of family should have been listed. Thanks again Ted Richard
